Rich Media Ad Specs
| Closing: | The Expandable portion of the ad must contain a clearly visible (16 pt font, e.g. [x] CLOSE) CLOSE or SKIP function that allows the user to stop the animation and close the expanding element immediately. | |
| Looping: | The animation can loop, but the animation length can only last for 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, animation must stop, but can resume on user mouseOver. Site approval is required for any looping over 15 seconds. | |
| Expandable: | An Auto Expanded ad is allowed, but must be freq capped at 1 per user per session. Max allotted time allowed for the single auto initiated expandable is 15 seconds. Max number of panels: 4. Please see specs below for Panel size pertaining to ad unit. | |
| Audio: | All audio must be user-initiated click only – no exceptions. | |
| Flash Version: | Flash (swf) version 6, 7, 8 and 9 are accepted. | |
| Video (in-banner Video): | Can be host initiated. Must download politely, or stream in after initial download. Maximum duration is :15 sec. and it must contain stop, pause, play and audio control buttons. Allowable video file size that streams in capped at 1.2MB Max. | |

The advertising opportunity in the DigitalTrends.com video player consists of multiple placements. There is a 608 x 342, 15 second Pre-Roll, and there is also a 608×342 video overlay placement. We no longer accept companion ad units with video ads. |
The required asset for this product is the video asset file itself. The video must be a 15 second video. The following file types are acceptable formats: Quicktime/MP4. The preferred format is QuickTime/MP4 with little to no compression. The asset can be delivered in any widescreen or full screen size, but the preferred minimum width is 608 pixels wide and the preferred minimum height is 342 pixels. The click URL must also be provided. An impression/tracking URL is preferred if available, but it not required. The video asset must be submitted to DigitalTrends.com at least 7 days prior to the campaign launch. For more information, please contact your DigitalTrends.com account executive. |
