Apple’s newest cat-based operating system, OS X Mountain Lion, is coming next month for $20 as an upgrade to Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion is the ninth major release of the Mac operating system and was unveiled during today’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.
The revamped operating system is supposed to come with more than 200 new or updated features, including iCloud integration and iChat being replaced by iMessage. A number of other mobile only apps are making their way to desktops including Reminders, Notes, and Notifiication Center, which are supposed to sync with other Apple gadgets. One more feature worth noting is AirPlay Mirroring, which allows users to display their desktop on another screening using Apple’s Wi-Fi AirPlay streaming.
