Ford’s latest advertisement for their 2012 F-150 SVT Raptor comes as a bit of surprise. Ford originally showcased their popular Raptor as the ultimate off-road bruiser, sailing through the desert air with nary an eye-lash batted. Ditching that backdrop in favor of Ford’s Romeo Proving Ground in Michigan, the newest ad just might be Ford’s response to some isolated issues the 2011 model had when a group of eager owners bent their vehicle’s frames after aggressive hill jumping. With the footage being moved to the relatively calm woodland area, (which offers little in the form of jumps, and thus an overall lack of airborne footage in the new ad) it might be safe to assume that the issue is at least on the minds of the engineers over at Ford.
