For a while people have been curious about whether or not electric cars could be brought up into the high performance range. Nissan took the time to build a 100% electric racing vehicle based on their commercial Nissan Leaf. It looks more racy than the Prius-y looking Leaf but the engines are the same. Despite that, reports show that this vehicle is more look than performance. 0 to 60 takes 6.85 seconds and it can only go 93 miles per hour at top speed. Though, minus the components of a normal engine it is lighter than a normal racer.
