We love James Bond for his exquisite style, effortless bravado, and never-ending flair for the dramatic. Funnily enough, we love his cars for the same reasons.
In the upcoming Spectre film, 007’s ride of choice will be the Aston Martin DB10, a conceptual sports car that was created specifically for this role. Though it won’t be sold to customers, the DB10 is a striking design, boasting the classic Aston profile with a more exotic front end.
A video shot in Rome, Italy by YouTube user Marchettino shows a trio of film cars sauntering on set, looking unsurprisingly gorgeous.
Underneath the vehicle’s flowing bodywork sits the bones of a V8 Vantage, but it has a longer wheelbase and a wider track. Ten cars were built for the film in total, at least a few of which are likely to meet a fiery, gut-wrenching end.
Last year, Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman told Top Gear, “Some may get destroyed. They’ll be treated harshly, used in real stunts. When you see the car in the movie, it’s not CGI. It’s got a real driver in it. It’s being pushed to its limits.”
The Bond film will also feature appearances by the Jaguar C-X75 prototype, Land Rover Defender, and Range Rover Sport SVR.
Spectre follows James Bond as he hunts down a sinister criminal organization of the same name. Other than the host of striking automobiles, the film stars Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Ben Wishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Andrew Scott, and Rory Kinnear.
007 returns to the big screen in the U.S. on November 6, 2015.
