Leaked Toyota Prius C pictures

Toyota is said to be readying their upcoming Toyota Prius C, but as it stands now the Prius C , which will be the smallest and cheapest model in the Prius line, is merely a concept with no real definitive details released, until now.

Thanks to a plucky reader over at Carscoop, who sent in a brochure featuring what appears to be a possible production model of the Prius C, we may now have some  insight into what to expect from the newest member of the Prius family.

Upon first glance of the alleged Prius C production model, the body appears to be less angular with a redefined front-end and a redesigned rear that blends the look and feel of the traditional Prius with that of a Nissan Leaf. Historically, wheels on past Prius have been underwhelming, appearing thin and out of place, but the Prius C model seems to feature a set of wheels that compliment the body and design well.

If Toyota can deliver the impressive numbers that are being touted (60 mpg with a cost around $20,000) and retain this edgy redesign — then they could very well have another hit on their hands come 2012.

Electric SUV co-developed by Subaru, Toyota may not appear until 2025

Subaru and Toyota have entered into an agreement to co-develop electric cars, but the first product of that partnership may not appear for several years. Subaru unveiled a mockup of an electric SUV at a technology briefing in Japan, but wouldn't offer a more specific launch date than "before 2025," according to Automotive News Europe. What's more, Subaru's CEO said the United States will not be a priority for electric models.

The mockup had a tall SUV body, with a low roofline and steeply raked rear window, according to Automotive News Europe, giving it a sleeker look than more traditional models like the current Subaru Forester. Black plastic cladding over the wheel arches, similar to the Subaru Crosstrek, is meant to give the vehicle a more rugged appearance. The mockup also had cameras in place of exterior mirrors, according to Automotive News Europe. Some production models, including the Lexus ES and Audi E-Tron, have camera mirrors in certain markets, but the technology is not currently legal in the U.S.

toyota eyes the skies with 394m boost for flying taxi maker joby aircraft

Numerous electric-powered flying taxis whizzing about over busy cities may sound like the stuff of sci-fi, but a number of significant players are working hard to make it a reality.

Take Toyota. The Japanese car giant has just pumped a hefty $394 million into Joby Aviation, a California-based company developing an all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for fast, quiet, and affordable air transportation services.
