Green Car Report sounds kind of fishy. Are they even a legitimate company? Sound like the Ford Focus EV is real but their report is slanted to make a reader believe that these are just “fake” vehicles. Ford already did electric Rangers in the late 1990s.

Hi Daniel, great observation. But while the Volt is very much a legitimate Plug-in hybrid vehicle, I intentionally left it out because of its gasoline engine -- same goes for the Prius Plug-in and Fisker Karma. The automakers listed here that have produced many of the cars mentioned have all done so in order to hit that zero-emissions mandate so any hybrid engine won't count.

You forgot the Chevy Volt in the list of legitimate electric vehicles available for purchase now. Yea it only has a 40 miles range without the genset but it’s still an electric drivetrain (most of the time)
