it will always be a specialty market due to the dangers and licensing that always comes with flying something.

a 80yo lady is not going to be a very comforting site when she has neglected to upkeep her maintenance and her hover car goes flying out of control

the predetermened path seems the only safe way to have hover cars and even then it would be a specialty thing transportation only affordable by big business’ and theme parks
