I just recently purchased my phone and I love it. It’s small but packed full of features and easy to maneuver. I just replaced my LG Envy phone and that was a phone I loved but this one is right up there with the Envy.

The LG Versa is a wonderful cell phone that packs a lot of goodies into a small, well built package. After trying the Samsung Omnia, a so-called “smart” phone, and having so much trouble getting it to do basic functions, I switched to the Versa and I’m absolutely delighted. Easy to use, excellent features (e.g. a fast browser), great qwerty keyboard!

I agree, I tried the Omnia first as well and switched. If you’re not an on the road business exec. you do not need the Omnia. Though it’s loaded with tons of features the Versa is all the average person will need and more. If anything, the touch screen can be a little slow.. a 10.

I have to admit that I was excited when I first saw this phone. I had to have it. The colors were terrific, the detachable keyboard was a great and novel idea, and I wanted a touch screen. And it could store and playback music as well as access the internet. Sounded perfect. Well, I am now on my third phone, and each one has been worse than the last! This phone would be great if things only worked the way they should. They advertise terrific battery life. And maybe this is true if you never use the phone. I use it only a little and have never been able to make it past two days without having to recharge it. Generally, every day recharging is necessary. And if you like to access the internet, enjoy the wait. You may as well go to western union and send a telegram. It’s THAT slow. Then there’s the so called touch screen. Wouldn’t it be nice if what you touched actually worked. Usually you have to try touching it 10 times or more to get it to register once, and then it likely will register the wrong key. Try typing a text message when nearly every letter you hit is one letter off from what you wanted. I’ve re-calibrated each of my three phones at least 30 times (no kidding!) and the techs at the Verizon store have done it too with no better results. Their response was “maybe they will come out with new software to correct the problem.” And each of the three phones continually drops calls, even when in areas with multiple bar reception. The best is being able to hear the other party but them not being able to hear you even though you have great reception (2 bars or more). It gets tiresome constantly having to hang up and call back. Think of the Verizon commercial “can you hear me now?” Hey, I would love for them to say “YES!” But they often can’t. Very frustrating. Perhaps LG rushed this phone to market before it was ready. If it only happened with one phone I might say it was the one phone, but on three??? It can only be multiple general product defects. Apparently all these people that love this phone must not actually use it very much because how can you love something that doesn’t give you the functionality you are paying for? I have a business and am dependent on reliable phone service and equipment, and it’s embarrassing to have to constantly apologize to my clients for faulty equipment. Do not get this phone if you want reliability. Only get it if you are looking for something “pretty” with lots of cool graphics. But don’t be surprised if most of the cool wears off quickly when you have a hard time actually using this phone as a phone!

Nothing works perfect the first time you use it, especially technology. I keep reading these gripes about the touch screen or this or that and yes, I will admit there is some inconsistency but hey folks this is a MOBILE DEVICE! You are going to have environmental factors come to play in your use. My biggest criticism is that you can’t access the voice activated calling or make a call with the keyboard on and the phone encased. You can answer and hang up but placing a call requires you to open the thing up and then close it again, which for us prior flip phone users requires reconditioning our behavior. It’s also not very ergonomic to talk into, every time I use it, I feel like I’m talking into my wallet. Otherwise, I’m really enjoying the phone, learning it’s capabilities and becoming tolerant of it’s idiosyncrasies, which I believe are inherent in this type of phone. I like it and would recommend it.

Fun phone, but beware if you want to pair it with a Pioneer DEH-P7000BT car in dash head unit, it won’t work. Others have found it won’t pair with their Blutooth radios also. I have emails in to Pioneer and LG and many folks on the forums are upset also. Hopefully it will get an update to resolve the problem, but don’t hold your breath.
Texting is a blast and the phone is really cool in other ways, so far so good.

I previously gave this phone an overall 2 star rating because in spite of its appearance and advertised capabilities, the three phones I had did not perform properly. Well I have not changed my opinion. In fact, the last phone that I received not only suffered all the symptoms of the first two (poor touch screen reliability, very short battery life, and freeze-ups), this last one began to fail in other ways as well. In fact, the screen would often fail to turn on even though the phone was on and it could receive calls. Ever have your computer turn on but your monitor fail to work? This was the same thing. Instead of giving me a 4th phone, Verizon graciously offered me the opportunity to pick out a new one, so I selected the Envy touch phone. So far, so good.

I will never ever switch to a different phone. I got it for my 16th birthday. I will jump off a cliff before I get a new phone. If you don’t get this phone, you’re a failure in life!
