I’m pretty amazed with my new phone. I was thinking of getting the Samsung Glyde but when I saw the Motorola Krave I fell in love. The protector screen may make using the qwerty keyboard a small hassle but you have to love the fact that the touch screen is protected from scratches and such. It has a micro sd slot so you can use it as an mp3 player and has a regular headphone jack so you don’t need to buy a wierd headset. It’s fun to use the touch screen and making calls is a cake walk. I recommend this phone for people who want something that looks cool and has the capability of entertaining you. :) Go check it out.

This phone looks amazing! It definetly brings something new to the verizon table. I do have doubts about how well the touchscreen works and how well typing will going with this phone sideways. It probably would have been better if they made the phone so that the flip up screen would flip all the way back.

I bought this phone the first week they came out and had multiple issues using it. Since this was my first new phone in 4 years, I wasn’t sure if it was just a matter of familiarity. However, the more I used it, the more it became obvious the phone had problems.

    1. The display occassionally went blank 2 seconds after starting a call, making it impossible to answer any prompts when dailing any automated system, including Verizon’s voice mail and tech support phone maze.

    2. When it didn’t go blank, the dialpad was not easy to activate and sometimes would freeze or cause a constant tone.

    3. The phone would die overnight and not wake up, requiring removal of the battery and recharging before use. The phone did not display low battery the previous evening.

    4. Verizon’s Backup Assistant shows only the first names on contacts for 80% of the contacts. If you restore from Backup Assistant you lose all the other information permanently.

On the 30th day the earpiece speaker stopped working as the last straw so I returned it to Vz for replacement.

The 2nd one works OK. The typewriter keying is still odd. It recognizes words with just partial entry but there’s no way to accept it, saving zero keystrokes.

The best feature for me are the voice announcements and voice commands. Training the phone for your voice is simple and quick.

The speakerphone works well and is clear with no complaints from other parties.

Be careful if you want to buy a micro usb cable to connect to your pc. The “universal” model sold at Verizon stores doesn’t fit well due to an oversized rubber end.

I have had Verizon for 2 weeks now and have had the most trouble hearing on this network. The LG Dare was terrible. The Motorola Krave is not much better. It comes across like a walkie-talkie. There is so much silence that one feels the need to ask if the other person is still on the line. I actually say “over” at the end of my sentence so the other person knows I am finished speaking and didn’t hang up or was ‘dropped’. Krave is an overly sensitive ‘touch’ phone, but it is a nice phone . . . (over).

I have had the Krave for 10 days now and I am so very disappointed. My biggest issue is sound. I have to press and hold the earpiece so close to my ear that I leave an ‘ear print’ on the clear cover. I am constantly asking “can you hear me now?” because I can bearly hear the other person I am trying to speak with. The display goes black/dark while you are on the phone so you cannot see the prompts. Texting on the touch screen is ‘too’ sensitive. I regret leaving my last cell phone service provider (I won’t say which one because it wouldn’t be fair to Verizon), and pray I can find some ‘extra money’ before my 30 days are up so I can ‘port’ my number back.

I have had this phone for about a month, and have played with it a fair amount of time. Texting was much faster with my other phone as I just got way too familiar with the keys and had no need to look where my finger was tapping. The touch screen works well, not too good for ones with large fingers or large fake nails (my wife hates it), photos are great, music play-back sounds good too. Disapointing that motorola does not support this phone with Motorola Phone Tools software entirely, mainly mp3 and ringtone. Optional software is available to do this and many reviews suggest transfer to disk (micro SD) rather than by data cable. I have had similar problems with phone freezing however that was mainly due to cell service loss. This phone takes some getting used to, key strokes are saved by tapping the screen after the suggested word. All in all I give it an A-. Not the best but definately within the top 5.

I got my first Krave in Oct. I loved it at first and in the weeks to follow I started having problems like it would delete all my messages. Then it would only save half of my contacts or it wouldn’t let me make a call and it would freeze. So now today I got my replacement and I’m hoping that the bugs have been worked out like they have said. I guess time will tell!!!

I really like my Krave, but when reading all the other reviews, I guess I am the only one with this problem! When I am on the phone and I get an incoming call, the touch screen is blacked out, hard to answer an incoming call, and switch back and forth between callers, because the screen blacks out so quickly. Also when you call any place of business, and have to go through those phone tree menu’s, as soon as you press “call” , the screen immediately goes black! If anyone else has experienced this, contact me at (decode) cbgeorge2000 at yahoo dot com. If it wasn’t for this, I would love mine!

Looks good, smells good but what a piece of garbage. Screen too sensitive. Bring it to your ear, brush it against your face and you have no idea what it will do. No keypad calibration, like a palm has. Pressing directly on a letter or number might get you any one of the 8 surrounding keys. No consistency. Call a business and get into the phone tree that asks you to press 1. First you need to find the dial pad. Then if you don’t hit the correct number exactly you go to phone tree Haties. One really aggravating thing is if you want to make a website a favorite, you need to write down the url and then press it in. There is no “add to favorites” button. What a nightmare. I could go on forever, but I have to go jump off a cliff now that I realize I’m stuck with this POS for the next two years. I’m thinking of chucking it and going back to my good old reliable basic LG. This phone stinks.

I bought my LG Krave just when it came out. I needed a new phone and the guy who sold it to me said it was a great phone. It was until it started acting up. Butt dialing people on my contacts list and other stuff that makes it a better paper weight than a phone.

This phone was a clunker. The keypad would lock automatically and it was a pain to try to unlock to access features. Tried to return it to Verizon but was beyond the 30 day period so was stuck with it. Since then, it was ruined by a liquid spill but it is no loss…I simply had my old phone reactivated. My daughter also got this phone and hated it. Buyer beware!

I have this phone and I HATE IT!!!

If you do not keep the touch pad cleaned off of finger prints at all times, what you touch may not be what you get on the screen. This is especially bothersome when trying to enter a phone number but happens also when texting.

REMEMBER: Don’t use your phone while driving!

This phone is total garbage. The screen is too sensitive, it randomly resets, it’s next to impossible to work the touch screen while on a call, and it has absolutely no features. I will never ever buy another Motorola again.

I purchased three of these babies for my family. I will say the phone is sleek, attractive, and mostly friendly in functions; all-be-it the touch screen can be a massive pain. I have large fingers and find it very difficult to type out on qwerty, ITap logic is ok and has good word prediction. My biggest frustration comes when I need the dial pad. To get it to surface from a dark screen and then trying to navigate an auto phone tree system. Be prepared to make several call to get through or hope you can cut right to an operator for service cause this phone will truly test you! Browser is not at ALL what I had hopes for, very simple, not a normal display of html page features, if you get one you’ll understand. Email – can open no attachments not even pics. Just a word email (read/write) really pointless as this is what texting is for. If you like a phone to play games on this is not it what so ever. Also, I found that the screen fails to react at all if it gets very cold. Now that I got most of the bad out here is the good.

The phone has a very decent clear sounding speaker with great volume control, There are some decent apps to make accessing certain thing easier. Excellent battery life, I love the screen flip cover which is the whole reason I bought it, the camera take nice shots, with good zoom for a phone. If your not after every spice that phones today offer, but would like to step up past a pure basic, this one is not all bad but will take some practice, the screen is very sensitive as other post indicate. Having it to do over I might have gone a different way, but then what would I be writing about in that one??
