I've had this phone for almost a year and its works fine. I dropped it a couple times (once in a parking lot) But it still works fine. The camera quality is great! The texting sometimes has problems but its fine. But once when I dropped it, it turned off then back on and said the year was 1960. That's the only major problem I've had with it. Overall, it works fine. I recomend people to buy this phone.

In NOV, after using/liking my RAZR, I bought a G-1 and sent it back after two days, then got a Behold, which lasted three days, then got RAZR2 V8, and love it. But, as above, confess to being a MOTO 'junkie', and even still have my original 'brick' cellphone!, [hated V66 -too small] REALLY loved my MicroTac!! Only two complaints on R2V8: weak battery!!! [just found extended battery for $16.00 + $10.00 for new back cover] and poor offering for games [I want my Bejewled!!][or at least Jewel Quest- Original Version] Too bad Moto and T-Mob did not go 'all the way' for a real smartphone!

Their are so many bad reviews and I don't really agree with any of them. I've had it for a few months and i haven't had any of these problems. the battery life is good. the camera is great and the design is nice. 5 stars for me.

I was pleasantly surprised by the 'crystal talk' feature actually being the 'real deal'. Voice calls are super clear and loud. Some people at the other end have been very surprised that I wasn't speaking to them on a land line! Features and smeatures...you know, there are so many choices out there, I honestly think they all start to act the same with regards to features. It's all about design here. C'mon, this is why you got this phone! The piano-like super glossy pearl grey finish and super thin profile are unsurpassed by any other maker. Hello Moto!

I couldn't wait to get my new v8 with my tax return. The very first thing I noticed a day after I got it was the horrible battery power! Even if you charge it overnight with off until it says "charge complete", it's dead before the end of the day if you test a lot. Not only that, but I can't change the soft keys like my old Razr. And the text messaging is horrible. If I just tap the key, it doesn't register. But if I hold just a millisecond longer, you get something like 3333333555555 kind of thing. Also, if you don't have a picture for someone's caller id, it had this default "head" and tiny text of whose calling. I'm thoroughly disappointed and I'm going to sell it just so I can buy my old Razr!

Great design, nothing more. Buggy software, slow menus, UI customization is limited comparing to earlier Motorola models, camera is not so good, no 3G, no external memory, weak battery. Useless huge external screen because of touch screen limited function (works with player only). Not able to customize side buttons anymore.

I've been using Motorola phones for years (V50, V66, T720, V525, V3) and now with v8 I'm quite disappointed with new (Linux) software. I think this is the last Motorola phone I have.
