Like what? He did not spell three or four words correctly? Apparently you aren’t too smart yourself. I am a big grammar and spelling wiz. He isn’t half as bad as most people in this country. I am a SAMSUNG user and I am very well educated. Just because you have spell check on your little iPhone because you’re too stupid to spell the simplest of words, doesn’t mean you are any better than anyone..

The talk time is only estimated to about 7 hours. That is one down fall about the Captivate. They have battery life prolongers. You can buy them at the At&t store or you can go on ebay for them. The battery apps don't really work. Also, you can try adjusting your screen brightness and make sure you have all of your apps closed.

Has it always done this? If it has done this since the day you got it, you probably recieved one that has been returned or refurbished. That is what happened to me when I first got mine. I just took it back and they replaced it for free.

The range of WiFi on the Captivate reaches longer distances.
All in all, the iPhone is just a different shaped model of the iPhone 3. It isn't all that great.
Who ever is going for the Captivate, go for it. But it!!!

Half of the apps in the iPhone market.. You have to pay for. They have HARDLY any free or trial apps. The android market, has HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS free apps. Which of most, work PERFECTLY fine.
The screen is better. The iPhone 4 has a horrible screen. Condinsation will leave marks and bubbles in the screen. If you drop the iPhone 4, the whole phone shatters.
The Captivate, I have seen people drop the phone PLENTY of times on concrete, and not even a little scratch.

I have a Captivate. There are little things that tick me off with it, more so things that everybody has their own indivisual inquiries about. I dislike there is no flash. I dislike I cannot take a picture OF the screen and BY the screen. Three things.. Out of HOW MANY for the new iPhone 4? With having used both phones, the Captivate is definately OFF the charts when it comes to better appliances and options.

Well, no offense, but apparantly not too many of you know what you're talking about just for the simple fact that there has been SEVERAL studies and comparisons on the speed of the internet for both the iPhone 4 and Captivate. Every study has shown the Samsung Captivate moves LOADS faster than the iPhone for on the most basic of websites.

I went from black Betty to iphone and got rid of iphone within two weeks and than got there captivate abouta month ago and needles to say I will not be getting rid of this phone be tone soon I think that the apps load plenty fast enough andI can pick up wifi in about more places than with a iphone and in the places that the iphone can pick up wifi my captivate has twice the signal as the iphone and also in my opinion picture quality odd the same ipod nor better than the iphone and after a day or so the four bottoms on the bottom are pretty easy to get the hang of and learn how to use without even looking and the storage is16gb internal and up to32hmm external do what more do you need and there are like 300,000 Apps to have. That is quite a few. And the instant update for facebook and myspace is awesome as well. So in my opinion the captivate tricks and the iphone not so much buti guess if u like it simple there iphone is the way to go all in all everyone has their own likes but as far as smart phones goI think the captivate is top of the line right now

i just bought the galaxy s captivate two days ago, my first smart phone. i chose to go with andriod based on alot of the complaints/restrictions with iphone. i have to say i really like it. my biggest complaint of the get go is the battery life, it seems to barely make it 12 hrs, its an andriod multi media phone intended to be used for those purposes but doing that sucks the juice out:(( i too have already experienced my phone randomly turning off only once but kinda wierd hope this is only a temp issue, also sync with my laptop was intersting, my computer did not reconize my phone so i downloaded samsung kies same thing. What u have to do is format your internal memory card ( you will loose anything that is on it) then my computer was able to pick up phone.

i love my Samsung Captivate but i am having difficulty on the battery it seems that it drains so fast. like i plug it in this morning and on mid afternoon am on close to empty battery again! i have no complaint against any of its feature except the camera i wish that samsung had placed a button like the usual camera phones do and a flash would do the trick, but like what they say u cant have it all.

I like my Samsung Captivate, but having problems with it shutting off all the time. Full batterly, never dropped this phone, no reason why it should be turning off on its own. I'm constantly missing phone calls and receiving texts late due to this technical difficulty. Anyone else??

The charger connects to the port securely provided you make sure the sliding-door port cover is completely open. I had the same issue at first. Anyway, I LOVE the Captivate! I was a die-hard iPhone fan until I had an upgrade that I intended to use on an iPhone 4, and wound up playing around with the Captivate while checking out all my options… and I fell. Hard. The AMOLED display makes such a noticeable difference that my mother, who has never even held a smartphone, commented on it. I have no problems toggling between Edge and 3G (which I do on a regular basis). The Swype keyboard is so fun and when you get the hang of it (which doesn't take long), it really increases texting speed. Honestly, I could go on all day about this thing but I'd really just be beating a dead horse since everyone has already pretty much covered it. Bottom line: fast and fun; an awesome purchase.

this phone is amaaaazing,i got in october of 2010 but we have had to the at&T store twice it doesnt freze often.

but if you get one the first thing to do is to set up a gmail accont and have a memory card becuase when it does mess up your gonna want it and get a casee.,

bu other than that pretty good phone loved it and when i get my other one cuase mine stoped working i have to redoooo everyhting.

He mentioned that the iphone 4 has quicker web surfing than the captivate.my dad has an iphone 4 and he says the web is faster on my captivate. The bottom buttons are quicker to go out so the phone can save a little battery. The lock switch is not confusing at all. Somebody said there is a bias that apple is better than the captivate and it's true.this article is supposed to be about the captivate hit he spends more than half the time talking about the iphone. By the way, I typed this entire comment using swype on my captivate, which the iphone doesn't have.the captivate is WAAAAAAY better than the iphone in my opinion.

I can actually say my husband and I both have the iphone 4 and the captivate. I am getting rid of the iphone 4 and the 3gs that I have to get the captivate. It is such a nicer phone and much more senseable. The captivate out ranks the iphone's any day!!!

AND!, what about all those "Updates", Apple sneaks blocks in them too, Like the Sony Home Theater i bought after i got my G3 iPhone, it came with an Ipod dock, which worked GREAT until 4.0 now its blocked from access and useless – my external battery pack stopped working wayyy before that. The only thing you said that is accurate is the Excellent service, as apple replaced my G3s twice in the last 2 weeks, out of warranty ( the first replacement stopped getting a signal after 3 days) , that phone is now on Craigs list i didn't even bother to activate it. Im waiting for the Captivate to get 2.2 then Im jumping apple ship TOTALLY!

Forget about windows 7 phone's no multitasking........ no biggy, at least you will never have open apps slowing the phone down......

Do some research on google for "windows phone 7 microUSB slot" ;-) That's the real deal breaker!
You will find that it's just not happening, even though it does have a microSD slot!

(I took my windows phone 7 back 3 days after I bought it and exchanged it for a Samsung Captivate)

the iphone 4 really does have that problem BUT it turns out that the problem ONLY exists if you are in a very poor/weak reception area to start with and you hold the phone the wrong way.

If you are not in such a poor area you will never notice the problem at all.

Also, if it really was that big of a problem for most people, then most all people would have taken the iphone 4 back for a refund! ;-)

As far as selling a iPhone 4 in a year or two for $200 (on ebay now a good clean one cost about $350) BUT there is a good reason for it, a brand new 16gb iPhone on eBay as well as online stores sell for $650 to $750 today compared with the $495 you would only pay $350-$400 new on eBay and $450 at online stores like Amazon..

So naturally if you pay a lot less for a new phone, in a couple years you also would get a lot less for it when you sell.
Remember, the price differene betwen a new iphone 4 and Samsung Galaxy is BIG not just a few bucks........
