i have this phone. It wery good. The ring tones sucks but you can easyly download others. and you can download wallpapers. It’s very cool. but if you are a buzy person you need to have to batteres. Becouse the battery doesn’t have a long live, because the phone has a lot of colors, lights, and more. So i really like it anyway. recommended

This phone is pretty good, i just got a replacement. The screen went out and I have had it less than a year. 2 big negatives are you can not set individual ring tones to everyone in phone book (only 10) and the ringer is not as loud as most phones. missed many calls. otherwise not bad, nice phone to impress the ladies.

I’ve had this phone for only a few weeks, but have gone through all the features. The ring tones are obnoxious; not sutible for a business setting – but I found to be plenty loud; will download new ones. I miss being able to create the profiles that I had on my Nokia (combo of ring tone, loudness, vibrate on/off, etc). Looks like I can’t tag existing phone# on my SIMS card as home/mobile/work and will have to reenter to tag. Have ordered extra chargers to deal with battery life. Have also ordered data kit (expensive!) – can’t find software to dowload to work with IrDA port.

I am on my 3rd replacement phone, first two stopped working. Battery life-very short, and ring tones all sound similar. I hope this 3rd same model phone does not break down on me again. Overall, I do not recommend it to people who are extremely dependent on it.

This is both a personal review and a comparison between this and the Motorolla V600 (They both fall into the same class)

I love the phone…I love it alot. But I have a few gripes so I’m taking points off and explaining why.

One is battery life as mentioned, but I have a car charger so .25 off for that (battery is horrible compared to other phones and if you’re on it, it really doesnt feel like 3.5 hrs, feels like maybe 2, but when you’re not using it is almost worse – my phone seems to die after a full charge, untouched after about 12 hrs).

Next thing is ringers, yeah – you don’t get to add ringers to EACH number, only to 10 groups (which can consist of however many users), still personal individual ringers would be nice. (.25 off since 10 groups isn’t a horrible thing, I’ve assigned one for fam, one for friends, one for co workers, one for vip, etc.). I don’t actually mind the groups thing at all, I almost prefer it. The only way it could have gotten better is if I’d been able to assign a ring to each individual person or there were more ring customization options. But considering most of the phones I’ve seen and used only allow you to assign a limited amount of rings anyway, maybe this isn’t too bad, for a comparison.

No bluetooth is a definite bummer cuz I’d have liked to use wireless earphones with this stylish phone (.5 off).

No mp3 tones is also a huge bummer since it’d have been great to upload my own tones through edited mp3s (.5 off). The phone does use something close to mp3 tones called trutones which can sound very very nice and just like the song, albeit 10 seconds at max of it, but the tones are $2.50 and you lose em if you ever have to change the handset.

Then there’s the whole no video camera, which I blame on the phones low memory (.5 off).

Finally another big whammy being no animated wallpapers. Personally, I’d have gladly taken mp3 tones and a video camera over java games, but such is life. Maybe nextgen cells will come in 2 or 3 flavors, productivity (which stress the organizer/pda functions), games (which stress gaming) or cell fun (which stress tones, wallpapers, phone customization)

Till then and overall however, considering it costs alot less than a V600, I love the phone. The look, style, feel and that it actually is more durable are big advantages. Don’t let my headline fool you…If I could choose between this and the V600 for even the same price, I’d probably go right ahead and pick this phone.

Just a heads up: The phones screen life is at maximum 2-3 years. Within 2 years the screen will look barely noticeably different (but still different) than a new phones screen. It for some reason starts to fade. In any case, T-Mobile will generally change the phone for 70 dollars, something you can’t do if you have the V600.

I have had the phone for about maybe 2 years and my main concerns are not the battery but the low volume of the phone when you are talking to someone. I have the volume all the way up and I still didn’t have a very easy time hearing the person on the phone. Another thing is the lack of decent headsets for the phone.

I rate this phone a “9″ instead of “10″, only because it does not have voice dialing or speakerphone. It is extremely easy to use. The photos are great quality. It has a one-touch shortcut for most of the common commands (including pressing the pound key to instantly silence). The ringing volume is LOUD (which is great, so you don’t miss a call) and the phone is very user friendly (no reading the manual!!!!). If you don’t care to sacrifice security with bluetooth anyway, then this phone is probably for you! I was hesitant on buying it after reading reviews about screen problems, but after the 1 year warranty I will probably be ready for a new phone anyway! I’m a 30 -something professional who is always on the go and I find this to be the best phone out there so far! Good luck on your purchase!

I bought the samsung cell phone E715 six months back and it is in warranty period , it stopped working and

I send that cell phone to service center , after 10 days I got the unrepaired cellphone. when I called the

service center they told me we cannt repair this because of Liquid damage.

I told them that it is in warranty period as stated on their website and product , but they decline stating

that it is because of Liquid damage.

    Samsung response

Thank you for your correspondence. We do not have the benefit of seeing the phone via email to explain the determination made by the repair technician. However, if there is any corrosion found when the phone is being repaired, this type of damage due to moisture is unrepairable. Whether the moisture be due to environmental conditions, perspiration from possibly keeping it in a pocket or liquid itself, no blame involved, it simply is unable to be repaired. We are sorry for any inconveniences this may cause

The E715 is a good lil’ phone. It’s small, well constructed, great display both inside and out. It’s just a plain good phone style wise. My only problem with it is the fact that the first one had display problems and had to be replaced, the next worked great for a while until after a few months the camera stopped working, then they sent me a new one in wich there was a 5 second delay for the buttons to react and i could not hear anything from the other end of the line (and yes the volume was turned up). I can’t say as it’s entirely samsungs fault that i kept getting bunk phones, the first one sure but each one after was a t-mobile refurb that most likely wasn’t tested properly before being sent out. If you’re looking to buy an E715 i wouldn’t really suggest it. Sure it’s a great looking phone and samsung makes good products but this phone is just way to problematic.

    The software is very poor.

The batteries are very weaks. Only 2.5 day maximum with the ORIGINAL batteries.

    The handsfree… let’s forget about it…

And now another problem… The display is brighter, the image on it is displayed with some light waves, it is a total shit.

Nokia calls me. No more Samsung tests.

The phone has the shortest battery time, and the screen fades, so eventually you cannot see any pictures you took or any numbers.

i had my phone for less than a year and it will just operate for a day – on standby!

I bought an extra one from samsung online and still the same problem. i don’t know if they are just recycling their batteries instead of selling brand new ones.

I’ve gone through two Samsung E715′s. The first one, it had redicuously bad reception. It would cut out all the time, and no one could hear me wherever I was. Then, every time I got about 30 text messages, it would say like some error or the message box was full, and continue blinking that I had a new message, even though I didn’t, but I was still able to recieve about 160 more texts. Then my second phone’s screen completely cracked leaving a giant black blob, leaving me completely unable to read anything on my screen. Overall I’d give it about a 3/10, and I’m being nice.

I love this phone! I don’t have the best reception but I think that’s due more to Tmobile than it is to the handset. It could have more room for text messages though, I agree. Has games, but can’t download games. Easy to personalize through wallpapers, ringtones, display settings, etc. Is small, light, compact – yet sturdy. No bulky antenna – very sleek. Easy to open and operate with one hand. Was looking to get a new phone but am holding onto this one until it dies, I like it that much.
