The sidekick is old news. A couple years ago it had its hayday but then the iPhone came out nobody really looks at the sidekick anymore. Either way the service for T-mobile is to unrealible for the price. Im looking for some alternatives if anyone has favorites. Im looking at maybe prepaid, to save some money. Straight Talk is only 45 a month which beats all contract phones and rans on the verizon network so i think leaning there.

I bought this phone last year and boy, what a mistake! I honestly do not like anything about this phone other than the keyboard. I would not recommend this phone to anyone. Also, the sidekick package you MUST buy to utilize all of it's accesories is a bunch of crap!

This phone is fantastic. I like the D'WADE better even though they are the same, the only problem is that I unlocked this phone, and without a code with only 2 easy steps. So that means I can't use the web (because I don't have T-mobile)and I can't use downloading catalogs or anything, but that's not to bad. Thank you, but yes this phone is great.

I can't be without my sidekick 3. The only thing that I don't like about it is not being able to send pictures through text (LX does though). It has everything I need at my fingertips and helps me a lot with school (flashcard application, e-mails, etc).

I have just recently got the Sidekick3 and I decided to get this one over the LX and Slide because it seemed to fit me the best. The Slide was too crammed and the LX seemed to look like an older version besides the bigger screen. The web browsing on Sidekick3 is decent. I haven't had any problems with reconnecting. I think the people that are having problems with that have to do with the service signal not the phone. The MP3 is amazing. The messaging is just so fun to do and I think this is the best Sidekick out and I am totally 100% satisfied and recommended this phone to recent and new Sidekick users!

I've had my sidekick3 for about 2 years now and I'm totally satisfied with it. It has decent connectivity and signaling. Great for texting, good mp3 player and speakers, and the applications are really cool too. I've noticed now though that the IM's are getting a bit slow. I wouldn't blame the lack of signal on the phone itself though; its t-mobiles fault. They're just not that great of a phone company in general. If it weren't for the sidekick3 I would've stayed with Verizon. :)

When I first got the sidekick, it wasn't so bad. The "G" would take a minute or two to reconnect when I just walk out of the train station. In about a month later, it started to take an even longer time to reconnect and then out of nowhere I would lose the "G" in my own home! I don' think its T-Mobile fault, it's just the sidekick 3 most likely wasn't fully tested out for the problems (that's why sidekick id, and LX had just recently came out). My sidekick still doesn't work after a year now. I highly regret buying this phone. If I could make the score any lower, I would.

I bought the sidekick 2 a few years ago and couldn't wait to get the new sidekick 3. I had the phone for 3 months and it started making a high pitch squeal whenever I plugged it in to charge. It also would take hours to send text messages. A month later when receiving phone calls my ring tone would play like a broken record. I have another friend with the Sidekick LD and he has the same problems. I spent about 8 hours on the phone with customer care trying to get a new sidekick 3 and when they finally sent me a new one, it didn't work! I would advise saving your money and going with someone other than T-mobile.

I got the SK3 from my husband as a Valentine's Day present. Number 1: it didn't come with the mini SD card as it had listed as an accessory in the book and when I called T-mobile, they only ran me through the ringer, said they'd send one, a month goes by, no card. Then the say they don't have any, I will have to buy one of the more expensive cards. Number 2:The first phone had issues with the digits (keys) not working or overworking where I'd press e and would end up with 20 of them and had a hard time texting, dialing, etc. I sent the phone back, received a replacement where I continued having issues. Finally, I ended up with the 3rd replacement phone and had it for a day, the trackball would not register when pressed down therefore making it impossible to play specific games and to use certain features. I held onto the phone for 2 months until it became a hassle and sent it back. When I received the box and opened it, they sent me back the same exact phone claiming water damage. Now, I have never got water onto, near or in the telephone so why would the sensor go off? I spoke with a representative who told me first that sitting in a sauna can do that, that you didn't have to get water into the phone at all. Well, that's odd cause I have never been in a sauna before! She also said that keeping it in it's carrying case can do that, so why then do they make the cases? She also told me that just holding the phone and sweating can cause the same issue. Therefore, normal use and care of the phone can set off the water sensors voiding out the warranty. How fair is that? Now, I have heard the Danger does not stand by their phones, I have also heard of a retention department, and when the rep told me to just buy a new phone, I almost flipped a lid! If I can't trust that they stand buy a guarantee and I can't trust that they wouldn't have jeapordized my warranty to leave me stuck with a faulty phone, why would I give them more money? All they said was they were sorry but they could do nothing for me. Just having the Sidekick and having had to go through 3 of them only makes me want to give up T-mobile altogether. It has been nothing but a pain and their Customer Service these days seems more concentrated on what money they can rake in, more than Customer Satisfaction. I pay $250 a month on my plan with downloads, monthly fees, etc. I'd think they would do something more to help but I guess they'd rather lose an 8 year customer who spends a crapload every year. Hmmmmmmm? I may not be back here at all.......nice place to vent though!

I don't think the problem with the signal is because of the sidekick. Maybe it is just T-Mobile. Damage to the sidekick happens because it is not treated as it should be (a fragile object).

I wanted the Sidekick 3 for a long while so I finally broke down and bought it! Not what it's cracked up to be at all! For one the applications are expensive and you have to buy the Time Traveler App. to actually have an alarm! Every phone these days has an alarm! Plus the alarm won't wake you up unless you have your phone on ringer, if you want to turn your phone on silent and have the alarm wake you up it won't, it will go off but nothing will play, so you MUST have your ringer turned on! What a bummer! Also the speakerphone is horrible, the ringtones I believe are too highly priced and you can't send direct pictured messages via text messages you have to send them to an email. What really bothers me the most is the text messaging!!! I used to have another phone that would send and receive my messages fine but now this phone half the people I send messages to don't get them until hours later! You can't put pictures as wallpaper without buying the application...So pretty much any standard feature on a normal phone must be bought on the Sidekick! I overall say this phone is not worth spending your money on the only good thing I believe there is about this phone is that it looks nice, other than that it really is not that great!

I live in Baltimore Maryland and I got this phone because of the features it has, for the first 3 weeks I had the phone I was in Seattle on business, and it worked great! however after I arrived home I have had more problems than I can mention, text locking up or not going through or coming in only after power cycle, phone calls not coming in, horrible reception .......I lost reception in downtown Baltimore and Washington DC, some of the best signal areas in the country!!! And no bars!!!!! To add to the problems, I have spent approximately 48 hours total on the phone with customer service, and they know nothing!!! They tell me to do the same things all the time and act snippy when I tell them I did that with the last tech, they are horrible. Do yourself a favor and do not sink you money into this problem child! And for that matter stay away from T-Mobile, I got a Samsung blast for another line that stopped working 3 days after getting it!!!!

I got this phone for my birthday last December. By The time it was March things started not to work. Finally the Sidekick broke in September. At first I thought it was the battery, so I took my friend's sidekick battery and placed it into mine. Turns out it wasn't the battery it was the phone. Although if this phone does break on you and your entire phone numbers and such are in the phone, there is a website to get the numbers. Personally I loved the Sidekick 3, but I will never get one again. It has easy texting, messaging, etc. But some things about the sidekick are bad. If you don't have a warranty on the phone then you are screwed. My parents don't want me getting a sidekick again simply because it is a waste of money and isn't durable.

We bought our son the phone as a present. After using it for a couple of months (still in the warranty) the back light does not work anymore. After talking with customer service for 45 minutes they asked us to look at the liquid indicators; this phone has 3. How many phones have that many? The two under the back plate are white .The one under the screen is discolored, therefore voids the warranty. Come on now why under the screen? After months of use of course there will be some condensation built up in that area. Not to mention we live in Las Vegas where the temp gets over 115 f in the summer. So keeping it in your pocket is out of the question. The service T-mobile provides is not the problem but the warranty program needs to be really revamped. I do not recommend anyone to buy the SIDEKICK 3.

I've had my Sidekick 3 since May, also. This is now my second one with the same reoccurring problems. Horrible speaker, service dies out, track ball stops working, texts send late, it ignores calls...I suggest you do NOT get this phone!

I've had my SideKick3 since May. It stopped working after only 4 months! It doesnt even turn on, all it does is, once the battery is put in, occasionally it will vibrate. Thats it. It really isnt worth the money you have to pay. They could have done a lot better with this phone. Like put an alarm on it, calculator, better camera, and just better features all together. There is no point to the bluetooth, you cant use it with anything.

I've had this phone now for about two weeks, and it sucks already. You lose service just about everywhere you go, the phone doesn't have basic features like an alarm, or a calculator those are two things that come in handy for me, the camera sucks at night as well as during the day light, it doesn't record any video, the speaker phone is not really that good either. I mean don't get me wrong I like t-mobile but this phone is NOT worth all the money that I paid for it. I'm truly disappointed.

So many people want the sidekick because it's a cool looking phone. Basically the sidekick 3 is not all that great. I bought one because I thought it was going to be the best phone ever. But I was wrong, for its actual price, its missing a lot of features everyday cell phones have. You would expect that this phone would be a quad-band phone, yet it's only a tri-band phone. It also is missing the video capture. It does not have an alarm. You cannot receive picture messages directly to the phone; you actually have to go to an online album. And also the camera works perfectly on broad daylight but it does not work at night. Flash on this camera is pointless. It does have an MP3, but you're not able to use the songs on the MP3 as ring tones. And lastly you cannot send ring tones or pictures via Bluetooth. So this phone is actually not that great. It does have a great design and the keyboard, but that's about it. So all in all I give this phone an 8, because even though this phone is missing some features, it's got a nice look to it and is good on web browsing and receiving data with EDGE.

So I was all about the image of the Sidekick and what it could offer me. I am a loyal Verizon customer and decided to switch over to T-mobile for the sole purpose that I wanted the Sidekick. My main problem is that the phone loses service everywhere I go. I never had the service problem with Verizon, so maybe it is more than the phone. I would tell everyone to skip the phone and try something better. IT DOES NOT LIVE UP TO ITS HYPE.

Okay, I know how people don't like this phone, but how can you not! Ever since I bought the SK3 over 2 months ago, it has been my entire life! Anything I need to find out I can just look up on the internet, or just ask one of my friends on AIM.

I also understand that people are having problems with their phones not working, but the SK3 is very fragile, and if you do not put it in its case, or if it gets wet.... we'll then you just wasted $200.

Awesome phone and if your entire life revolves around the internet, then get this phone!

We have had the Sidekick 3 phone for 7 month and it does not take a charge. The plug inside the phone is loose and does not charge. Tech told me this is common because we push too hard when inserting the charger. I have been to the local T-mobile store and they put a fully charged battery in and behold it works! I sent phone in as instructed by the service people and now they tell me I have liquid damage!! The "liquid damage indicator is red" The problem has nothing to do with liquid damage. It is a faulty plug! My phone is in warranty and they will not replace my phone. The warranty is not even up. We have 5 months to go on our contract and no phone. Not happy!! T-mobile should stand behind ther warranty and not let the liquid indicator be their "GO, NO GO test! What kind policy techs do they employ? I want a job there.

Yeah, so I picked up the Sidekick after getting bored with my Sprint A-900 Blade. I thought the blade spoiled me with it's 1.3MP camera however it seems all of us have the same gripe about the camera fuctionability. Sharp never really did make great cameras or camcorders outside of the (like the Sidekick)original at the time Viewcam.. even that was subpar. I cannot say I dislike the SK3. It took some getting used to & once I sat down for a second & figured out how to hack the themes options I was good (now when I shut it it says "I got a jar of dirt" jack sparrow... The only other gripe I have is that some sites claim to work with T-mobile however the Sidekick is not present on they're select phone option. Why is that ?

I've had this phone for 3 months! It's been a nightmare to say the least. This phone is worse than its predecessor (the SideKick 2). The Bluetooth is not all that fabulous. That's the least of this phones problems; the reception is TERRIBLE! I loose service anywhere and everywhere. I can have full bars of reception and out of nowhere (without even moving) it drops to no reception (X) It takes an eternity to pick up service. I'll be on AIM or on the web and it'll loose service for no reason. To top that off, I get no reception in the middle of Manhattan! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!! It's JUNK! I'm buying a different phone this week
