I am having the same problems, in Dallas. I had replaced my phone more than seven times in less than 12 months. Right now I am without phone awaiting another replacement.

Although T-mobile is a great phone company I wouldn't exactly say the same about their G1 phone. This phone doesn't allow you to send audio/music and it forecloses a lot. It's limited to what you can download because if you download more than your suppose to the phone starts acting up.

It has wonderful qualities but it does lack a lot I should have just stuck to the new Blackberry.

I've been a customer of t-mobile for several years, we've had some ups and downs over the years, but I enjoy being a t-mobile customer. My question today is can t-mobile develope or offer a "porn" block for the G-1 phone to those who would like to install it on their phone? Good idea and also a get funtion to offer for the G-1. As a parent, I would like to have the option, thank you for your time, oh by the way, the G-1 phone I love it.
I am very disappointed overall with the phone: horrible battery life, blurry pictures, hard to save numbers, crazy screen time out. Overall not as good as it was advertised for.

Hi I was a Sidekick user before I got the G1. The G1 is not what I expected. The battery really sucks. Then the MSN and AIM, when u log in after few minutes if you try to check both, they start going out. Also you can't even play videos on the web, but let's see what happens with the upgrades. I hope they do better then so far.

I'm really impressed with this device. It has its odds and ends like any other phone, but all in all, it's a great product. The touch screen works amazing and I never have trouble with service, no matter where I am. The web browser works really good, even though the speed can lag at times, but 90% of the time it works great. I owned a Sidekick '08 before the G1, the text mechanism is almost similar except the buttons are more flush, which can be difficult at times feeling the letters. but it will just take some getting used to. The market place is amazing (not to mention the apps are free) along with some pretty cool games, which are also free. that definitely gets two thumbs up. The shape feels a little weird but not too bad. I find myself having trouble taking the back off to retrieve my battery or sim card, which is kind of irritating at times. But I'd have to say, this is a great phone, one of best I've had thus far.

I was excited to get this phone but it truely sucks! Almost all of my picutures come out blurry or distorted. I cannot download my own ringtones and I cannot save incomming pictures that are sent to me on my phone (say as a background or in my photos).

There is no way to save an incoming number to your phone. YOu have to write it down then add it to you phone. You can sometimes save a number if it is sent with a text but doesn't work all the time.

The maps portion of the phone can never find my location when i select that option.

The Google option is just about the only thing I like and that works well.

I could have saved alot of money and got a way less expensive phone that has more features that lack in this phone.

Don't waste your money on this phone, you will be disappointed...i promise!!!

I am now the owner of the G1.My last phone was a Blackberry Curve and I must admit i was hesitant to make the switch. Overall the G1 is a pretty good phone but I would'nt rush out to buy it. It does not have a headset jack, the battery really sucks, you cannot fully stop the music player it just allows you to pause the song this feature is similar to the ipod.I also recieve an echo during calls. Last but not least the design irks me....what would be the purpose of the banana like jut at the end of the phone...feels extremely weird when texting....keys are not as good as the Blackberry.

I was anticipating the release of the G1 for a long time. I even pre-ordered it online. It was a huge disappointment.

The phone has great apps, movement, style, and all that jazz. Unfortunately the service reception was so poor that I had to return it. I did not have any service in my building, not a work, or other various locations. Forget have network surfing service, I mean I was not able to even recieve phone calls or text.

I live in NYC! I figured the 3G network would be around and working. But not according to t-mobile, although my blackberry works fine. I'm figuring it has to do with the reception and it's capability of the G-1.

The battery life is awful. If you're on the run the whole day, the phone will die in the middle of it.

A customer service rep suggested a Samsung T-919 Behold that is being released in mid-November. Just incase anyone had the same issue I had! I might opt for that.

Upon first release I had all faith in the G1.. Being a dedicated Google fangirl, I was sure that they would get it right..

But alas, I was sorely disappointed

Size

I got over the size and weight of the G1 rather quickly from previously owning a Sidekick. All the reviews said the ackward bend to the home panel wasn't a distraction or a discomfort. But I found that to be inccorect. If you don't have large hands the phone sits ackwardly and makes it difficult to navigate across the keyboard.

Battery Power

If not available to connect to a direct power source this phone will not last all day. I found myself to be down to 38% batterly life by 2pm. This is going to get me to far. I didnt use this phone any differently than my blackberry and my blackberry went for days without a charge. This leaves much to be desired.

Local Memory vs. SD Memory

It was not clear from any initial marketing how apps would be stored. But straight out of the box i had the dreaded Low Space inidcator. I couldn't clear this indicator. I had to repeatidly clear Cache memory, cookies, bookmarks and other application memory to get this to clear. Too much of a constant Chore.

Syncing.

My phone refused to sync, which was later indicated by the low local memory. If your phone is running low on memory it wont sync leaving you with old data. This was by far the most annoying issue. Since now i have duplicate contacts in both my gmail and phone when it did finally decide to sync.

Lack of assecories

I could not find a case that was worth while. Leaving this phone susceptible to damage. Commmee onn...A million cases for the Iphone not one that was worth it for the G1...

Maybe i might come back for the next gen but this one has all kinds of issues to work out.

Very impressive for a first shot, but it's not an iPhone killer - yet.

1. Battery life is really bad (lost 45% of the battery in 3 hours of on-again, off-again usage; have had to recharge twice since 6:30 this morning);

2. Contacts, which rely on Gmail contacts, truly suck; no Outlook sync; and

3. Inconsistency across apps; some give you a menu after a long hold, others rely on pressing the menu button

BUT, here are the good things:

1. Excellent screen quality; better than the iPhone

2. good keyboard, well designed, with all the keys you'll need

3. Android Market -- already several apps available for download, and they all work flawlessly so far

SUMMARY: If you absolutely have to have an ultra-cool phone and don't want to put any more money into Apple's pockets, then this is it. But if you can wait 4-6 months, there will be much cooler hardware and the software will have improved quite a bit, plus the Android Market will be full of killer apps. My old MDA phone died last month, so I needed a new phone, and that's the only reason I bought this. I expect that I will upgrade to a better Android phone next Spring.
