CES 2007: Keynote Part 6

On Microsoft’s campus there is a building dedicated to their Home of the Future. The “sets” in this building are used to showcase forward thinking ideas that are either not at all possible with today’s technology, or are on the cusp of today’s technology. It’s a way to show ideas of how our future lives could be. Bill Gate’s shows off some of these ideas, including a kitchen that can read RFID tags when you set items on the kitchen counter, a display on the counter top, and voice recognition and a bus stop that gives you route information and local information like restaurants and coupons. And finally a bedroom display is an example of a possible smart wall, that allows you to change the theme of what to show, including allowing you to completely customize it.
