One of the more fascinating things that we’ve seen in the early hours of CES 2012 is LG’s refrigerator with the new feature that they’re calling “Blast Chiller”. LG claims that the Blast Chiller will beverages in under five minutes.
It’s supposed to be able to fit two 12 ounce cans or a bottle of wine. According to LG, it takes about 40 minutes for a beverage to cool down normally. However, the Chiller drawer is supposed to get down to “ice cold” in about eight minutes. LG says that their super cooling drawer is capable through “Jet Flow” and “Swirling Structure” technology. It’s not clear how these technologies work but it sounds convincing.
