Samsung debuted several Blu-ray players at CES this year. The E6730 Blu-ray Home Theater comes with more than just the player. It comes with two tall-boy front speaker and the system is a 5.1 surround sound.
According to Samsung, the E6730 is capable of 2D and 3D video. There’s another Home Theater set-up called the E5500 comes with two HDMI inputs and an iPod dock. The E6730 is the higher end version so it probably comes with similar features.
One of the more interesting features on the E6730 is something Samsung calls “disc-to-digital”. Samsung describes the feature as enabling users to turn their personal DVD collection into digital content. Users have to register their ownership of movies, they will be able to access and view the digitized content at home and apparently, on the go. Samsung says that users can also upgrade their collection by purchasing HD quality versions of their movies. No pricing information or registration information has been released by the company at this time.
