Acer launches the TravelMate C300, as its newest convertible tablet PC, and first of its kind to offer a 14.1-inch screen and 2-spindle form factor.
Acer has combined the Intel Centrino mobile technology with improved user-centric tablet PC features, to bring new levels of convenience and system performance, and a true desktop replacement PC.
The TravelMate C300 improves the viewing experience with a 14.1-inch LCD, and meets the needs of tablet PC users who prefer a larger writing surface, while the innovative 2-spindle form factor offers the convenience of a built-in and hot-swappable optical drive. The full-sized keyboard also provides greater typing comfort. Powered with up to 7 hours of battery life, or up to 13 hours with the AcerMedia bay second battery, the TravelMate C300 delivers exceptional mobility.
A range of new features includes a light sensor that measures ambient lighting, and will automatically adjust screen brightness to suit the light conditions. Users may choose to adjust the lighting manually, and the light sensor software will save the setting to be used the next time similar light conditions are encountered. Moreover, Acer developed the soft button software that centralizes access to frequently used applications. It is particularly convenient for use in the tablet mode, while the keyboard is hidden beneath the LCD screen. The software automatically appears as an intuitive graphic menu on the screen, to provide simple access to audio controls, the tablet PC screen rotation button, program launch functions such as the Internet, email, Windows Journal, and more.
The TravelMate C300 manifests Acer’s endeavor to empower people with the most user-centric technology, to meet their most natural and practical computing needs. Like its predecessor, the TravelMate C300 is designed with an innovative 180 degree rotatable and folding back LCD display for convenient information viewing and sharing, and offers a choice of data input methods – by typing, writing or speech.
