Amazon Sites Go Down Again

Following a two-hour outage on Friday, Amazon's U.S. and UK sites went down again on Monday, although the company won't say what happened in either case.

Anyone trying to access Amazon.com’s site during a two-hour window last Friday found it unavailable – and nor was the Internet Movie Database, another Amazon-operated site. Things like that happen.

But when both Amazon’s US and UK sites went down again on Monday for about an hour, speculation became rife. Some claim it was a denial-of-service attack, others an internal service problem.

Whatever the cause, Amazon is remaining very tight-lipped on the matter, releasing no details and offering no explanation, so the rumors will undoubtedly continue to fly.
