Anycom Announces Bluetooth Travel Mouse

German peripheral maker Anycom Technologies has added an optical mouse to its range of Bluetooth accessories. According to the company, the credit card-sized Anycom Blue Mouse BTM-100 is the first product on the market to meet all requirements for a Bluetooth mouse for mobile applications.

The BTM-100 includes the USB charging cradle, a manual, a travel bag and two AAA Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries and has an MSRP of 49.00 euros. The product will be available from specialist dealers, electronics warehouses and by mail order over the Internet from mid-August.

The standard (AAA) batteries are charged using a USB charging cradle, which is designed to allow you to continue using the mouse while it is charging, much like a traditional cabled product. Its power-saving functions, such as sleep mode, give the mouse an operating time of 20 hours and a standby time of up to 2,000 hours according to Anycom. To conserve battery capacity while you are on the move, the mouse can also be disabled using a small switch.

Anycom says that a wear-resistant optical sensor with 800 dpi resolution allows the Anycom Blue Mouse BTM-100 to meet the highest levels of precision. The scroll wheel offers additional user comfort. Its symmetrical design makes the mouse suitable for both left- and right-handed users. It can be used with any PC or notebook with built-in Bluetooth technology or via an external USB adapter that supports the HID (Human Interface Device) profile. HID allows devices such as keyboards or mice to communicate directly with a computer without the need for additional drivers.
