The AK79D-400MAX is AOpen’s bid for dominance of the AMD arena. Read on to find out how well this board takes on the rest of the nForce and KT-600 based solutions.
Quote from the review at HardOCP:
“From initial impressions, my hopes were good for this board. The layout, with the exception of the AGP and DIMM slot contention and the lack of the ATX12V connector was impressive. This is especially considering the amount of onboard headers and such included with the board. AOpen even went a step further in putting a heatsink on the Southbridge. An active HSF on the Northbridge would have been a nice touch and might add some stability during OCing.”
