Best Buy to Do Custom PC Gaming Rigs

Best Buy announces they are partnering with Velocity Micro to let consumers design their own gaming PCs through BestBuy.com.

Consumer electronics retail giant Best Buy on Wednesday announced they were teaming with high-performance enthusiast PC manufacturer Velocity Micro to build custom gaming PCs ordered through BestBuy.com. This new feature is available now.

This new relationship, said the two companies, will let BestBuy.com shoppers build and customize a PC to their particular gaming needs. Based on customer feedback which indicated that such a program was desired, gamers will initially be able to customize their system from an assortment of pre-configured Velocity Micro gaming systems. Additional custom offerings beyond gaming applications are planned for later this year.

“This marks a new era in PC gaming at Best Buy,” said Kevin Balon, vice president of Customer Centricity at Best Buy, in a statement. “We know our customers are always looking for innovative and convenient ways to maximize their gaming experience and these high performance Velocity Micro PCs should help do that for them.”
