BFG Asylum GFFX 5700Ultra review
HardOCP takes BFG’s new Asylum GeForceFX 5700Ultra for a spin in eight games and compare it with three popular cards in the mainstream market.
Quote from the review at HardOCP:
“Please keep in mind that we have increased our resolutions and AA/AF levels as to bring more of a challenge to these cards. Both have been marketed on their DX9 abilities to deliver “cinematic” effects and that is what we want to hold them to.
In Max Payne 2 the BFG Asylum 5700Ultra did show noticeable improvements over the 5600Ultra. It allowed for a more consistent FPS above 30 compared to its predecessor. However, when compared to its main competition the Radeon 9600XT we find that it was not able to surpass it. Overall the 9600XT provided the best average framerates in this game, but the 5700Ultra was very close, certainly competition for the 9600XT in this game. As for realworld gameplay, we would suggest that you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two video cards in a “blind taste test”.”
