Cingular Wireless has raised its offer for AT&T Wireless in a heated bidding war with Vodafone.

Over the weekend, Vodafone Group PLC bid about $35-billion (U.S.) for AT&T Wireless Services Inc., leaving the contest for the nation’s third-largest mobile phone carrier a bidding war with Cingular, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday on its Web site.
