Camino 1.0 Mozilla Browser for Mac OS X

The Mozilla-based Camino browser has finally reached version 1.0, offering Mac OS X users the features of the Gecko engine married to native Mac OS X technologies.

The long-simmering Camino Web browser has finally reached version 1.0, at last offering Mac OS X users the features of Mozilla’s Gecko page rendering engine combined with Mac OS X-native technologies.

But wait: Apple already ships its own Web browser, Safari, as part of Mac OS X, and the Firefox folks have been compiling versions for Mac OS X for quite some time: what do Mac users need with Camino? The answers are pretty straightforward: despite being developed by Apple itself, Safari isn’t to everyone’s taste, sporting a number of interface oddities (including bizarre progress bars and brushed metal windows), and
