Dell Debuts Inspiron 1525 in Australia

Dell Debuts Inspiron 1525 in Australia

Not only does Australia already beat the United States to the punch with cars like the Holden Monaro (which arrived stateside years later as the Pontiac GTO), it looks as if they’re beginning to edge Americans out electronics as well. Dell’s upcoming Inspiron 1525 notebook, still without a firm release date in the U.S., has cropped up on the Australian branch of the company’s site for pre-order.

As expected, the Inspiron 1525 will share many features with its older sibling, the Inspiron 1520, including a 15.4-inch LCD, 160GB hard drive, and Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics. The most notable upgrade: a snappier Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 processor, which operates at 2.0GHz with a 800Mhz front-side bus.

The Inspiron 1525 retails for A$1,399, which works out to $1,224 USD. The site indicates that pre-ordered machines will begin shipping on Jan. 9, which could be some indication when other continents will see the machines for sale.
