Not so sure about Dell's ability to "continue selling what its customers want" - I've just spent hours, spread over 4 days trying to buy a Dell XPS 420 with XP installed for use in the small business in which I work. I have a Dell account but had to fight non-stop to be given what I want with XP Pro on it. In the end, they had to upgrade the XPS to the 630 model, throw in Vista Ultimate and only THEN agree to 'downgrade' to XP Pro. I got big upgrades in the hardware I wanted, in order for them to sell me a computer with the O/S I wanted...

Dell lost out, I argued for hours and hours, Microsoft sold a version of Vista that no one wanted and made yet money from it.
The PC market is utter madness - I only use Linux at home and would never buy a Vista PC
