Dell Introduces Faster 24-inch XPS One

The XPS One 24 improves upon its predecessor from the inside out, topping it all off with a 24-inch, 1080p display.

It looks like Dell has big plans for its iMac-imitating XPS One system – quite literally. On Thursday the company revealed the XPS One 24, a new version of the system that bumps the old version’s 20-inch display to a massive 24-inch, 1080p version, and brings internal components along for the ride.

Dell will update the processor from an existing Core 2 Duo CPU up to Intel’s new Core 2 Quad Q8200, and offer discrete graphics in the form of Nvidia’s GeForce 9600M GT as well. Audio has also been refined with dual stereo speakers and subwoofer from JBL.

Other features include an HDTV tuner, DVR capabilities, an optional Blu-ray Disc player and recorder, component stereo system, and webcam.

The system will come in midnight gray and Apple-esque pure white versions, as well as a (PRODUCT) RED configuration that will send $50 to $80 to fight AIDS (depending on specs). The most basic version will run for $1,699, while the top-of-the-line unit will hit $2,299.
