Dell Inc. may announce an expanded selection of its consumer electronics line in the next several weeks, a retail industry analyst said on Wednesday.
According to a Reuters article, a Citygroup Smith Barney analyst who covers Best Buy and Circuit City Stores said Dell was likely to make such an announcement before the holiday shopping season.
“The expectation is that in the next several weeks, Dell would announce an expanded selection of televisions and a greater selection of digital cameras,” Bill Sims told Reuters.
In June, Dell had said it planned to increase its offering of large screen LCD (liquid crystal display) televisions, which it began selling last year, in addition to offering even larger plasma-based models in time for the holidays
