Dell products were already available in 13 stores therevia sales kiosks. Dell products have been available by direct sales in Australia, but this broadens the market, continuing the strategy begun by Michael Dell when he returned as chief executive inearly 2007, after the company had lost its top sales spot to HP. Ed Williams, Dell’s South Asian general manager for consumer sales and marketing, said:"Today’s announcement gives customers the option to call, click or visit and have access to Dell’s award-winning products in Australia. While we continue to see growth in our online business inAustralia, we recognize that some people want to touch and feel our products first. Our partnership with Officeworks will enable them to do this before buying a computer that meets theirspecifications."
