Dell Slides out the Slicker Studio XPS 435

The XPS 435 updates the original Studio XPS with better hardware, more features, and a swankier case.

In an unusually low-profile release, Dell quietly updated its XPS line of performance-oriented desktops on Wednesday with the Studio XPS 435. It updates the original Studio XPS with better hardware, more features, and a swankier case.

Inside, the XPS 435 gets Intel’s Core i7 processor, coupled with ATI’s Radeon HD4870 graphics card, which sports a rather impressive 1GB of RAM. The motherboard will be able to handle itself in the RAM department, too: Dell says its six DIMM slots will accept up to 24GB of DDR3 tri-channel memory.

Unlike previous XPS cases, the 435 adopts a slightly less intimidating stature that’s curvy and less angular. It will be available in translucent black accented with orange, or a Mac-like pure white.

Dell hasn’t yet noted when the new XPS will be available, or where it will fall on the price spectrum.
