[Update 1/1: That's it, folks. This giveaway is now closed.]
It’s been a fun couple of weeks during DT’s ‘Better than Socks’ Holiday Giveaways, but all good things must come to an end. We thought we’d go out with a bang by giving away a freakin’ quadrocopter! That’s right; get excited. Our friends at Firebox have graciously offered to give one lucky winner his or her very own Micro Drone Quadrocopter (a value of $112).
Featuring four rotors and “automatic gyro control,” the Micro Drone is able to pull off sharp turns and 360-degree flips in midair. The quadrocopter has a flight range of close to 400 feet, and is just slightly larger than the palm of your hand. It also comes with a compact remote control with a digital display. The Micro Drone runs on four AA rechargeable batteries, and a full recharge takes about 40 minutes, which is a small price to pay for some sweet, sweet quadrocopter action.
Don’t believe that the Micro Drome is as awesome as we’re making it out to be? Check out the video from Firebox and see for yourself.
Interested in winning a Micro Drone? Just tell us your favorite toy from holidays past in the comments below by December 31, and we’ll choose a winner on New Year’s Day. No entries submitted in 2013 will be considered, so good luck!
There’s still time to enter some of our recent giveaways, so check out DT’s Better Than Socks Holiday Giveaway page for more cool gadgets.
Whenever this topic pops up at holiday gatherings, my kids roll their eyes and shake their heads because they know what I’m going to say: Chutes Away! That game was awesome! My brother and I would play that game for hours until our left eyes were sore from squinting. It goes without saying, I wish I still had it. Besides, Dick Van Dyke is THE MAN! Makes me wonder what toys my kids will remember most.
Favourite toy from Christmas past had to be a remote controlled big wheel! And I would love love love to have a new remote control “toy” this year!
Favorite toy was remote control car I got to use with my daughter.
Rubix cube!!! :)
My favorite toy from Christmas past was a toy call trick trax.
My favorite toy was my Commodore 64! It was the biggest surprise I ever found under the Christmas tree.
Atari game console was the most awesome present. I played every game until I could beat it. I even learned cheats back then. That was my intro to the love of all things tech.
My PS3! Got it six years ago and I’m still playing it! :)
My favorite toy from holidays past was my brother’s water game. You know the one where you push a button & try to get the rings on pegs. Just add water, no batteries. Now those where the days.
Favorite Toy from past Christmas – GI Joe Aircraft Carrier! Parents wished they never got it because of how much space it took up.
My first PS3! The best bluray player hands down at the time and backwards compatible!
my favorite item would have to bee my introduction to XBOX. It has become part of my life now
You kids will have to look this up…There was an animated series around 1961 or so called “Supercar”. That wonderful crime and catastrophe fighting machine could operate on land, in the sea, and in the air. It and the Professor saved the world many times. The battery-powered, cable tethered flying model I received one Christmas was the most wonderful thing I had ever seen! With that little plastic contraption, I saved the world almost as many times as the Professor. Brings back such fond memories. I’ll bet that I could be an even bigger hero with that Quadrocopter ! I’ll bet that all evil in the world would be vanquished within a day.
Looks like fun.
