Gallery Adds Power To Google Calendar

Gallery Adds Power To Google Calendar

Google has announced Gallery, which will allow users single-click importation of listings and events to Google Calendar.

Google has added muscle to its Google Calendar application with Google Calendar Gallery. It’s a widget that allows users to import listings and events from other sites.

By giving Calendar users access to a numberof public listings of all kinds, Google’s modest aim is to turn the application into “the next best thing to a personal concierge.” With a single click, events or complete calendarscan be imported to the user’s calendar.

The Gallery feature has listings for TV (sorted by ZIP), sports and music, DVD releases, as well as more specialized offerings such as NBA games,Disney park events, concerts for Atlantic recording artists and a number of others, as well as festival schedules.

The Gallery is also available to non-Calendar users, but its aim is to offerflexibility to make Google Calendar the leader in the field.

“You can browse different categories of calendars to see which ones are the most popular, or you can search in the search boxfor the topics that most interest you,” Google claimed. “You’ll see video, images and detailed descriptions right in the listings so you can preview the events or shows with oneclick.”

Additionally, users will be able to receive cell phone and e-mail alerts about upcoming events.
