Gateway Showcases New All-In-One PC
The new Profile 6, with a starting configuration price of $1,199, is targeted towards the professional market and offers "virtually tool-free" upgrading.
Gateway today introduced its sixth generation all-in-one desktop PC for the professional market. The new Gateway Profile 6 PC will be available in April for a starting configuration price of $1,199.
The Gateway Profile 6, said the computer maker, integrates all the components of a traditional desktop, including a 17†LCD monitor and stereo quality speakers, into a single unit. The Profile 6 is reportedly virtually tool-free when needing servicing, offering easily removable parts for replacement or upgrade. Features, depending upon configuration, can include Intel’s 945G chipset, processing power up to Intel’s Pentium D dual core and 2GB DDR2 memory, SATA-300 hard drives, IEEE 1394 ports, 802.11b/g wireless and gigabit LAN.
“This product is the result of Gateway’s nearly decade long refinement of this category as well as the recommendations, wish-lists, and suggestions from literally hundreds of professional organizations,” said William Diehl, vice president of product marketing, Gateway, in a statement. “The new Profile 6 neatly combines the affordability and serviceability of a traditional desktop with the ease of deployment, ergonomics, and style expected from an all-in-one system.”
