Although this is pricey for a netbook, do you know how long I have been waiting for attractive PictureBooks (10-year-old technology) to sell for under $1000? Sony was among the first 'netbooks' more than 10 years ago, with the tiny 2-pound Sony Picturebooks, but they sold for tons -- $3000 or more -- and were a niche product.

I'm interested in a netbook, but I want at least 1280 pixels of screen width. Very few netbooks has that. This Sony would now be a top contender. The keyboard's actually touch typeable. The display and keyboard quality are my #1 criteria in any ultrasmall laptop, and this model seems to have it in spades.

I will now be anxious to try one at the nearest store when it arrives in Canada. The price is high, but far less than the $3000+ I nearly forked out for a tiny Sony TR3-series laptop a few years ago before changing my mind.
