HP Now Takes PayPal

Hewlett-Packard announced today it will accept PayPal as a payment method at its online HP Home & Home Office Store.

Resurgent but ethically-beleaguered computer maker Hewlett-Packard announced today that it is now offering PayPal as a payment option at its HP Home & Home Office online store. PayPal, now a subsidiary of online auction giant Ebay, has long offered a way for businesses and consumers to pay for (and accept payments for) goods and services via the Internet. It currently boasts more than 122 million accounts.

"Adding PayPal as a payment option gives our customers more choices and even greater convenience," said Sam Taylor, HP’s senior VP, Consumer Direct. "PayPal’s millions of customers can experience the HP Home Store’s award-winning customer service and unparalleled selection of HP consumer products and supplies." HP also accepts most major credit cards and offers e-financing to qualifying customers.

HOP’s Home & Home Office store offers customized desktop and notebook computers, printers, all-in-one office systems, printing supplies, monitors, digital cameras, and even LCD and plasma televisions.

Stephanie Tilenius, VP of merchant services for PayPal, said: "We are excited to add the HP Home Store, one of the nation’s leading e-commerce sites, to the list of merchants who accept PayPal. Many of our customers already shop for HP products and will be eager to use their PayPal accounts to do so."
