IBM Buying Chinese Mail Company
IBM has announced its intention to purchase Hong-Kong-based e-mail and messaging company Outblaze.
IBM is spreading its wings, and it’s set to look abroad, purchasing the Chinese company Outblaze, which sells hosted mail and messaging solutions that other service providers and telcos use under their own brands, ZDNet reports.
Based in Hong Kong, Outblaze will then become part of IBM’s Lotus Bluehouse project, which is currently in beta, and is the company’s online business social-networking and collaboration service.
In a statement, Bob Picciano, the general manager of IBM Lotus Software, said:
"The acquisition of these Outblaze assets further demonstrates Lotus’s commitment to delivering secure, scalable online solutions and will help accelerate delivery of collaborative services, with little to no IT involvement."
