The New York Times says that IBM could put their PC business up for sale for around $2 billion dollars.

“It is IBM’s practice not to comment on rumors or speculation. When we have something to announce, we will,” an IBM spokesman told CNN Business News. The company was one of the first to come out with a PC back in 1981. “
Gartner reported on November 29th that three of the top 10 PC companies will no longer be in the business by 2007. This would appear to reaffirm that prediction.
