Boeing is set to launch what it says is the world's first broadband in-flight Internet service sometime during the last two weeks of April.
The much-anticipated service will let airline customers surf the Web, check e-mail and even trade files with earthbound friends, all at speeds comparable to a home broadband connection.
If all goes as planned, the system will not only be a boon to frequent flyers who can’t afford to be disconnected, but could also lead to an intense battle among airlines for the hearts, and dollars, of high-flying Internet users.
