If you look at the Zii demo videos at zii.com or ziilabs.com, i think the Zii chip is really powerful and almost future-proof. You are right about the Play Station 3 part as indeed there's a similar chip (like the Zii) currently being used in PS3. However, due to the complexity in the coding for the chip, the Sony one didn't quite take off. Creative's main direction for the chip is for it to be used in small portable devices and I must agree that there's surely a market for that.
