For gaming Intel & AMD both make some good quad's & dual-core's for the $. Even some triple core's. If the games in the future need that much info bandwith, so be it. I have a dual core Intel w/ Intel M.board 2 gigs corsair 6400 800mhz RAM & its great for internet & movies, some games with ati radeon 3650 gpu & it is a good little midrange computer. My next build will be a quad core i'm sure, probably AMD/ATI. Might entertain the idea of Intel/NVidia/ATI though.
