Iomega Makes Available New Mini External HD

The Micro Mini Hard Drive, which is smaller than a credit card, supports USB 2.0 and comes in 4GB and 8GB storage sizes.

Data storage products company Iomega today announced a new USB 2.0 external hard drive product line. Known as the Micro Mini Hard Drive, 4GB ($129.95) and 8GB ($169.95) models are available now.

Iomega’s Micro Mini Hard Drive, which weighs less than 1.75 ounces, is smaller than a credit card. Its 4200-RPM hard drive is protected by drop shock technology and has a fold-away USB connector which eliminates the need for a separate USB cable. Power for the external hard drive is drawn directly from the computer’s USB port.

“The new Iomega Micro Mini Hard Drive delivers on the promise of higher capacity and convenient portable storage,” said Brian Still, Manager of Product and Channel Marketing, Iomega Corporation. “The new Micro Mini Hard Drive is smaller than other external hard drives, provides more capability and a better price per gigabyte than Flash memory devices, and it comes with an excellent software collection for easy backup and disaster recovery.”
