I wouldnt touch anything with SCO with a ten foot pole. Truth be told, I'm really surprised that they are still operating.

SCO v Novell is _not_ an extension of SCO v IBM. SCO accuses Novell of slander of title -- slander by saying out loud in public that Novell (not SCO) owns Unix copyrights.

Anyone who follows SCO v Novell must bear in mind that by law any transfer of copyright must be in writing. SCO argues that transfer was intended, but intent won't wash in court.
