Logitech Introduces QuickCam Communicate

Logitech today introduced QuickCam Communicate, a versatile and affordable webcam with a striking new look that gives it a lot of personality.

QuickCam Communicate sports a charcoal black color, flexible flat-panel clip and a cool blue light that glows when in use. Its bold, yet smaller design combines Logitech’s familiar, compact eyeballshape with sharp, angular lines that frame and draw attention to the inset lens.

“QuickCam Communicate is a great webcam for those who want a complete, affordable offering — and it’s a device that makes a statement with its stylish design,” said Gina Clark, director of marketing for Logitech’s Video Business Unit. “It comes alive with its glowing blue light while adding video to your instant messaging experience.”

QuickCam Communicate works with a rapidly growing number of video applications, allowing friends and family to add a more personal touch to their communication. It’s simple to use with all the top video instant messaging applications, including MSN Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and Yahoo! Instant Messenger. It also includes a trial of Logitech’s VideoCall for broadband, an application that allows people to have synchronized voice chat and video over their broadband Internet connections.

QuickCam Communicate also makes it easy to take and send still photos and video clips to family and friends via e-mail. It features an integrated microphone that allows people to add audio to video clips or Instant Messaging applications. The package includes a flat-panel monitor clip, so the webcam can comfortably sit atop any monitor or notebook PC display.

QuickCam Communicate will be available on store shelves and online at www.logitech.com beginning in September for a suggested retail price of $49.95 in the U.S.
