Microsoft Has 11 For Patch Tuesday

October's Patch Tuesday next week will bring at least 11 security fixes, says Microsoft.

Microsoft has released advance information on next week’s October Patch Tuesday security update, saying it will be releasing at least 11 security fixes. Four of the bulletins have been rated as critical by the company, six important, and one as a moderate risk.

The four critical fixes are for flaws in Windows, Internet Explorer, Excel and the Microsoft Host Integration Server. If exploited, the flaws could let an attacker remotely execute code on a targeted system.

Typically, the number of fixes could shift between now and October 13, when they’re due to be posted to Microsoft’s update service.
