Microsoft's future operating system, Longhorn, will be compatible with HD DVD, an advanced form of DVD technology.

Sony has already shown their support for Blue-Laser technology by launching their own DVD recorder a while back. Panasonic is expected to announce a player/recorder based on this technology later this week, followed later in the year with new Toshiba blue-laser DVD products.
