Sony Brings the Bling with Swarovski Photoframe

Microsoft Unleashes Photosynth

Microsoft has released Photosynth, free software that can let users stitch pictures together for a larger image or even created 3D images.

Yesterday Microsoft officially released its free Photosynth software to the public. Developed in 2006 by the company’s Live Labs, it lets users take a number of pictures of a scene, which the software can stitch together into a larger image – it’s even possible, by going around an object and taking pictures to create a 3D image, according to ZDNet.

The software, which can be downloaded from the Photosynth site, consists of the software to create the image and a browser plug-in to enable the viewing of 3D images. The finished ‘synth’ can be embedded in blogs or social networking sites.

For now, Photosynth will only work with IE7 and Firefox 2 or 3, and users will have 20GB of online storage for images.
