Miglia’s TVMax Gives Mac mini DVR Support

New $249 device is designed to act like a Tivo for Apple's Mac mini and also allows one to copy VCR tapes to a DVD.

Miglia Technology yesterday announced a new digital video recorder product designed to compliment Apple’s Mac mini. The new TVMax is priced at $249 and should be available now.

The TVMax, said Miglia, receives analog television signals for recording and features built-in video compression (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX). It comes bundled with EyeTV 2 software for watching analog television on a Mac. Other features include recorded video export to an iPod; watch, pause, rewind and skip forward live television; burn television programs and VCR tapes to DVDs; and an included remote control.

“TVMax is the ultimate analogue TV and video recording solution for any Mac user,” said Eric Ferraz, Director of Product Management, Miglia Technology, in a statement. “It lets you watch TV in window mode or full screen, convert your VHS tapes to DVD in a few easy steps and best of all, TVMax records in MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and DivX formats. Bundled with EyeTV 2.0, TVMax is also ideal for iPod Video owners thanks to the exclusive One Click iPod export function.”
