MSI Breezily Debuts Its Wind U123 Netbook

MSI's new Wind U123 netbook features a 1.66 GHz Atom processor, a 10.2-inch display, and prices starting at $379.99.

Computer maker MSI has launched its latest netbook, the Wind U123, unleasing another Wind netbook configuration on a consumer marketplace that really can’t seem to get enough of the netbook idea. Like other Wind netbooks, the U123 features MSI’s ergonomic keyboard and touchpad, and a sleek design intended to appeal to both casual and serious mobile users. Plus, it will be available in red and blue, in addition to MSI’s standard grey and white.

“We are excited to launch another version of our award winning line of Wind netbooks,” said MSI US’s VP of sales Andy Tung, in a statement. “The U123’s brilliant colors, upgraded Atom N280 processor, and aggressive pricing make it our best Wind model yet.”

The Wind U123 features a 10.2 inch widescreen display (1,024 by 600 pixels) driven by Intel GMA graphics, along with a 1.66 GHz Atom N280 CPU. The systems will sport 1 GB of RAM (with en expandable memory DIMM slot), a 160 GB hard drive, a 4-in-1 media card reader, three USB 3.0 ports, along with on-board Ethernet, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi networking, a 1.3 megapixel Webcam, and a TV antenna connector for catching your favorite shows. To versions of the U123 will be available: one sports a 6-cell battery, while a heftier 9-cell batter will not only extend work time, but also sports Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR.

The Wind U123 should be available now from online retailers, with suggested prices starting at $379.99.
